Filming in the African wilderness requires patience, instinct, and a deep understanding of the rhythm of the bush, together with technical knowledge of cameras and composition and an instinct for the right moment. Together, these elements form the art of visual storytelling.
The team at Video Wild work quietly alongside their clients and professional hunter, capturing authentic moments as they unfold and shaping them through thoughtful editing and design. The result is carefully crafted stories, told through film or tangible bespoke photo books, allowing you to relive your safari and preserve the true experience of your time in Africa.
Meet our team
Brandon “Bam” Winterton
Known as Bam, Brandon Winterton is a passionate filmmaker and photographer who leads the majority of filming on safari. Also a professional hunter, his deep understanding of animal behaviour and the bush allows him to anticipate and capture fleeting moments with precision.
With a strong instinct for storytelling and a natural ease behind the lens, Bam brings energy, focus, and curiosity to every shoot. Calm, adaptable, and always chasing the best light, he is dedicated to capturing immersive safari experiences exactly as they unfold.
Jane Symes
Jane Symes is a visual storyteller, photographer, editor, and designer who oversees the creative direction and final delivery of each Video Wild project. Working primarily from the studio, she shapes the narrative from raw footage into cohesive films, photographs, and beautifully crafted photo books.
With a background in conservation and years spent in the African wilderness, Jane ensures every project remains thoughtful, authentic, and true to the experience. While much of her work happens behind the scenes, she still joins selected safaris each year to stay connected to the field.
Staff Mbata
Now the longest-standing part-time cameraman in the Delta, Staff Mbata began his journey as a tracker and has been with Zambeze Delta Safaris since its inception. Also a professional hunter, he serves as a backup cameraman and trusted field expert.
Recognised for his instinct, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge of the bush, Staff quietly follows events as they unfold, capturing moments with remarkable steadiness and precision. His calm presence and experience make him an invaluable part of every adventure.
